Shi Yi, the first locally bred second-generation giraffe in Wuhan, Hubei province, born in 2023, has recently been promoted to "big brother" this summer.

His biological brother — a healthy baby weighing 81 kilograms and standing 1.8 meters tall, named Wang Yuan — was born safely at Wuhan Wildlife Kingdom on June 23.

Shi Yi has been adored by locals since birth. Now, just over two years later, he has welcomed a brother. The newborn is exceptionally strong, with coat patterns identical to his brother's in infancy.
